Matt, #4, Holt Brown, stared down the shortstop and with an amazing amount of heart and skill beat the run down and made it all the way to 3rd base when they faced the Eaton Rapids Hounds on June 6th. Thanks to excellent pitching and fielding the team stayed within one run at the end of the 3rd inning. They came close to stopping the hounds with a long throw from left field staight to the third baseman. Unfortunately the tie went to the runner and sadly so did the game with a score of 6-7 in favor of the hounds. Holt Brown faces them again for a rematch on July 8th.
The Holt Blue survived a scare on Mon, 06/20, with a come from behind win 11-10. Strong baserunning and hitting provided the difference in the last inning of play. Holt must travel to Williamston later in the week and expect another tough game. Holt U12 Blue moved to 6-1-1 on the year.
The U 10 Gold team went into Westside and put close to a complete game Wednesday in the rain scoring 12 runs and holding Westside to only three base runners and 0 runs. Playing in the rain and coming off a 2nd place finish in the Dewitt tournament the boys didn't lose any time scoring 2 runs in the first inning and keeping the bats hot until the final inning. Now off to the Haslett Diamond Days tournament this weekend.
D&M played a great game with very few errors and good pitching by Mitchell, Max, and Kenny. Fowlerville wouldn't go away though and did a good job hitting the gaps to score five runners. However D&M had some nice hits of their own to secure the victory with seven runs!
The Holt U12 Blue boys combined a strong offensive game with 14 strikeouts to beat Dewitt 8-2. Holt combined excellent baserunning and strong defense to stay atop the division. Improvements are noticed weekly as this group of boys continue to compete and improve.
